About

The Embers Within

There are embers that lie inside. What do you wish to do with them? Do they need to be stoked, so the flame can be rekindled? Or do you let them fade, slowly turning to ashes as they drift away in the wind? Or maybe, like a Phoenix, your heart is ready to rise from the ashes. My role is to come alongside you and help you befriend the embers that lie within. For so many of us, we have locked these embers under trap doors and have numbed out to the heat that radiates from them. However, when we can learn to tolerate and embrace the discomfort of our inner world (our emotions, longings, thoughts, and desires), in the presence of a safe other, we find the healing and change we've been looking for all along. As someone who has personally experienced the sparks of anxiety, the scathing burn of trauma, the ache of an ember that has faded into the realm of grief, the dimming light of depression, and the raging flames of OCD, I am deeply passionate about walking alongside others as they embark on the courageous journey of making contact with the embers within. When we hold these embers with compassion, and when we summon the bravery to share them with those who matter most to us...this is where we come alive. This is where we stand the chance to feel seen, known, safe, and loved. Let us embrace the embers within.
